Flowing Into Fall
by Angela D'Amore
Hi everyone and happy September!
This summer has been truly incredible – the best of our lives – and we feel so lucky to have experienced it with all of our students and Eastie community members. The fun is just beginning, however! As many of you know, we sent a client feedback survey to everyone earlier this month – we wanted to know what you love about The Point, and what you’d like to see more of. The response was incredible! We had no idea our community was so supportive and opinionated and we so appreciate it.
Based on our findings, stay tuned for some great new classes and workshops, class times and formats. After all, fall is a time for change!
To get us all in the mood for the pending new season, we thought we would share some of our favorite wellness tips for fall in Boston – whether it’s staying active, or staying organized, we are right here with you.
Staying active this fall
We have to kick this list off with our favorite fall activities, of course: Going apple picking or to a corn maze with friends! We are so lucky to live in New England, where fall is so beautiful! Here are a few of our favorite local places, to name a few!:
· Dowse Orchard in Sherborn, MA
· Bellkin Family Lookout Farm, Natick, MA
· Brooksby Farm, Peabody, MA
· Applecrest Farm Orchards, Hampton Falls, NH
Learn a new skill – our Magnolia barre teacher training is the perfect opportunity to get out, get active and get back to learning after a summer of relaxing. Magnolia will be at The Point to train a new class of barre teachers this fall – Level I is coming right up on Saturday September 23 & Sunday September 24. Learn more on our website!
Two words: leaf peeping. We LOVE driving up to the North Shore to check out the leaves in the adorable towns like Hamilton, Ipswich and Topsfield. Make this an active outing by packing your hiking shoes, parking the car and taking to some local trails. Where are your favorite places to leaf peep?
Finally, why not get out and help the community? We love local organizations that help us and our neighbors – but we know they can’t do it alone! Our favorite community organizations to support are:
• East Boston Soup Kitchen
• Harbor City School
• East Boston Early Education Center
• Eastie Village Family Association
• Piers Park Sailing Center
Making time for wellness
Back to school season is officially upon us. Boston Public Schools go back the this week – crazy, right? While we are so excited to see the Eastie community get back to school this year, we know it can be tough to make time for exercise during hectic fall schedules. We’re here to help you squeeze in your “me” time with early morning and late evening classes this fall. Join us for a 6:00 a.m. flow or a 7:00 p.m. vinyasa. Pick what works best for YOU.
Some of our favorite tricks to make sure we have time to get our work out on are time blocking (any excuse to buy a pretty new planner, right?!), setting a “WORKOUT!” alarm, or getting together with friend and holding each other accountable. And, switch it up! Take your workout outside – or to our roof deck! – while you still can!
How will you stay active and take advantage of beautiful fall in Boston? What kind of classes and workshops can we provide you to help you achieve your autumn goals? Let us know! Send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can’t wait to get our “Fall Flow” on with you!
